Up for sale is a very fine and
beautiful signed Fascarola lion brooch in 18K solid gold and enamel.
Fascarola was known in
the 1960's when great enamel work was a hot thing and David Webb was
a hit. Fascarola made similar items to David Webb, however he chose
to make his animal enamel art more sweet in demeanor hence if you
take a close look, you will see that this lion has a sweet
expression, childlike in a way.
This specific brooch is
in a perfect mint condition with no chips or enamel missing. All of
the enamel is original with no repairs or alterations.
The lion is all 18K
solid gold, signed 750 and FC for Fascarola.
The eyes are genuine
emeralds and both the face & ears are set with high quality
diamonds.
This piece measures
approximately 3 inches long by 2 inches wide and over 1/2 inch
thick.
