|Up for sale is a beautiful antique Victorian hand made 14K gold
mourning ring.
Thanks to a
fellow eBayer, I was able to finally figure this ring out...It's
a late 1800's mourning ring which is set with hair, or as many
know it, mourning jewelry.
This
beautiful ring is in a good condition, it is decorated with hand
made carvings on both sides and throughout the top sections.
Additionally, you can find some very unusual work inside the
ring itself, it looks like a hand woven hair mesh going through
the inside of the ring.
Normally
this type of jewelry is made to preserve the memory and essence
of a loved one.
This type of
decoration creates a very unusual look in the ring, with both
the carvings and the mesh this becomes a very beautiful piece
which survived over 100 years and is still in a very good
condition.
This great
piece measures 7mm wide on top and it should fit a finger size
7.25.
