This beautiful piece looks
great and can be used as both a time piece or a cool antique pendant.
The watch itself is signed
Agassiz on the dial and movement.
The movement is a manual
wind 17 jewels, 5 adjustment Agassiz movement.
The movement is wound up al
the way, so it needs to be serviced in order to have it working again.
From further inspection I can tell that the balance in this movement is
still free and nothing looks broken, so it's just a minor service as far
as I can tell.
The case of this watch is
all hand carved/chased all the way around. The patterns are very
detailed and the work is superb.
The chain this watch comes
with looks like gold fill, but regardless, this auction focus is the
watch, the chain is just an extra.
This rare watch measures
approximately 40mm by 22mm and it weighs 16.5 grams.
