Up for sale is beautiful rare
greenish white natural jade dragon buckle.
This beautiful
piece is in a very good condition, it is over 50 years old, it was first
acquired by an antique collection in the early 1960's.
By the
research we did, this piece was initially used as a belt buckle type of
item, however, I've seen a couple in one in the Tokugawa museum in Japan
listed as a brush stand which is a bit strange for this item possibly
originating in Hong Kong or Mainland China.
The color of
this jade piece is translucent white with hints of light green. The
color is very soft and the jade looks like a greenish white cloud.
The animal
represented by this piece is a dragon, it also has 2 holes drilled at
the mouth which actually allows it to be hung like a large pendant.
The
jade in this piece is natural, type A untreated Jade. I had pieces
certified in random out of the collection and all came out natural.
Additional tests were done as well to make sure there are no treatments
as well.
This
jade piece measures 9.7cm
long (3.8 inches) 1.5cm (0.50 Inches) wide and it weighs
34 grams .
